Pros & Cons

  • Working with incredible highly talented people. The company's dedication in ensuring the best experiences for all the employees working is admirable.
  • Global company, I get to be part of a HR team that services Australia/NZ so there is exposure to many departments and employees within the business.
  • My role currently involves a lot of administrative tasks, which may not be for everyone. Also, my team is spread across different states so communication with some team members is completely over video.
  • Minimised contact with other graduates/interns

I was promoted after being here for 6 months year as a Graduate. It was really nice to be recognised for how much I'd learned in the year and that they believed I was ready to take on more responsibility. The business also prioritises promoting within and employees are always welcome to discuss opportunities with their direct manager.

One of the best parts about working for this company is how friendly everyone is, from my HR team to other employees and managers within the business. Everyone is willing to take time out of their day to assist each other, and many senior-level managers engage with all levels of staff including myself.

People that I work with come from different backgrounds and experiences. Many women are in leadership roles, they further support women in the workforce by offering 18 weeks of maternity leave.

I worked on a specific company project of consolidating and standardising position descriptions (PD's) for the company. That involved researching best practices, and benchmarks of excellence, and then writing and editing a standard document.

Although some of the HR managers are quite busy, they still make time to respond to any questions I have, and when they do get a chance to respond they are very open and provide helpful advice.

We have many branches across Australia and NZ, ranging from smaller offices and warehouses to much larger ones. The branches in SA have recently merged into a new distribution centre with new facilities and resources, and in NSW they are looking to move to a brand new facility as well which is really exciting.

Salary
I am quite satisfied with my salary especially as I am still considered entry-level and have only been in HR for just over 1 year. There is an employee profit share scheme which all permanent employees are eligible for after 12 months which I am looking forward to.

I have had a few training sessions, one was about interpreting psychometric test results which were very interesting and useful to know, and the other session trained us on how to better utilise our HR recruitment software.
