Massey's Postgraduate Certificate in Intelligence offers a gateway to most security sector and non-security sector intelligence agencies in New Zealand.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Postgraduate Certificate in Intelligence you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a relevant Bachelor's degree; or
  • be able to demonstrate scholarly work in conjunction with extensive relevant professional experience.

You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

If you are applying on the basis of scholarly work in conjunction with extensive relevant professional experience you will need to submit a CV.

Entry Requirements

To enter the Certificate in Foundation Studies you will:

  • have completed NCEA Level 2, or equivalent, and
  • have a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 overall with a minimum of 5.0 in each band or equivalent, if English is not your first language.

As well as meeting the academic requirements, you will have English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in each band, or equivalent.

Graduate Diploma

The Postgraduate Diploma in Information Sciences will give you in-depth knowledge and expertise in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering. Many students choose to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Sciences without an endorsement.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Sciences you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Information Sciences or an equivalent qualification, having achieved a B- grade average or higher over the qualifying 300-level majoring courses; or
  • been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, having achieved a B- grade average or higher over the 300-level majoring courses, and have at least two years' relevant professional experience demonstrated via a portfolio, and an interview if required.

You will need to provide verified copies of:

  • all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University
  • a CV and portfolio if applying on the basis of a Bachelor's degree and at least two years' relevant professional experience.

Masters (Coursework)

In the Master of Information Sciences, you will study several topics in depth and explore how best to apply your new knowledge and some new technologies. Studying towards your master's is a satisfying and challenging process that will give you a sought-after postgraduate qualification.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Information Science (180 credits) you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for the Bachelor of Information Sciences or an equivalent qualification, having achieved a B- grade average or higher over the qualifying 300-level majoring courses; or
  • been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, having achieved a B- grade average or higher over the 300-level majoring courses, and have at least two years' relevant professional experience demonstrated via a portfolio, and an interview if required.

Graduate Diploma

The Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences (GradDipInfSc) is intended mainly for graduates in an unrelated area who are seeking to retrain or upskill in the information sciences. Many of the students are studying via distance (online study) because they are working full time.

To enter the Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences you will have been awarded or qualified for a university degree or equivalent qualification.

  • have permission from your home university to undertake study at Massey University
  • have a cumulative GPA for all higher education work of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.

Bachelor

Massey is the only university in New Zealand to offer five ITC-related majors in the same degree. This allows you to mix and match courses to suit your strengths and interests. Enjoy smaller classes with individual attention from lecturers.
Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this programme, outside of university admission regulations.

If you have excellent achievements in NCEA and prior programming experience (through the successful completion of courses and participation in competitions like STAR, NCSS or the ACM SPPC) you will be considered for direct entry into second-year computer science courses. You may also be eligible to participate in software development projects.

Massey's Master of Analytics will equip you with technical ability and competence in devising data-driven solutions. These are the skills needed to transform massive amounts of data into insights that enable better decision making and innovation both in the private and public sectors.
Entry Requirements

To enter the Master of Analytics you will:

  • have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor's degree in the subject in which you intend to specialise, or equivalent, with a minimum B grade average in the highest level courses
  • have sufficient background in statistical analysis tools to satisfy the Academic Board that you have the capacity to undertake the programme.

You will provide the following documents:

  • Verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.
  • Provide a current CV showing all relevant work experience with statistical software.
