Isaac studied a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree (BBS) Majoring in Business Management and Marketing at Massey University, graduated in 2018, and is now a Hospitality Coordinator at Foodstuffs North Island.
I think a vast array of people can do project management. I think what you need to thrive in it is communication and people skills. Those are the most important. Having other administration skills and computer skills is helpful. The technical skills you can always learn, but having the right attitude and soft skills is really important.
My favourite thing about GIS is the problem-solving aspect of the job. I enjoy unravelling spatial puzzles, analysing data to uncover insights, and the satisfaction you finding the solution to solve the problem.
I think that everyone’s personal background brings a diversity of thought to a profession where people are constantly collaborating and bouncing ideas off one another.
My main area of responsibility is working with education providers across the Lower North Island to deliver our Education Programme and help motivate and inspire the next generation of Tourism and Hospitality workers.
