About this course

The Bachelor of Information Technology is a highly practical degree that will equip you with a broad foundation of IT knowledge and skills and embeds work-integrated learning opportunities to prepare you for a successful career in the information technology (IT) industry. Designed with input from our industry partners, benefit from innovative, up-to-date and industry-relevant units, as well as in-built practical experiences.

During your studies, your core units will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of key IT and computer-based systems areas. From your second term, you will begin to study units from your chosen major - Application Development, Business Analysis or Cyber Security.

You'll have the option to choose a minor that complements your core and major studies. A broad range of minors that reflect emerging fields and industry demands within the IT sector are available.

Your studies culminate in a project or internship in your final year. If you choose the capstone project unit, you will work with other students as a team requiring the production of project management artefacts typically required of a small-scale commercial project appropriate to your major. Alternatively, you may apply for an internship, which can be undertaken instead of completing the project.

With options to study on-campus or online, and either full-time or part-time, enjoy the flexibility to study how and when it suits you.
