What makes us unique are the incredible people we’re lucky enough to have walk through our doors every day. The giant ‘W’ on our building doesn’t just stand for Westpac – it says, double you. We’re a place that values, rewards and recognises individuality. Where you can be your whole self, your true self, and your best self. We’re recognised as a place where talent is developed, where passions are fuelled and where ambitions of all shapes and sizes thrive. And it all starts with you!

What can I expect from the programme

Our Graduate programme will give you an experience like no other and an opportunity to build and advance your career. You will gain exposure to working in Risk with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people right across our organisation. We are offering a permanent graduate position on a tailored programme which has been designed with future leaders in mind.

You’ll start with us as a permanent employee in February 2025. You will be involved in a 2 week immersive orientation to grow your understanding of Westpac NZ along with the wider grad cohort.

Throughout the programme

We’ll provide loads of learning and support to help you make the most of the experience with sessions that accelerate both your personal and professional career development.

The programme is packed full of different roles, teams and project experiences, and you’ll complete two rotations during the programme to help you learn about different parts of your business area.

  • Rotations could include areas of Enterprise Risk, Financial Crime Management or across the various teams that make up our Risk Function.

Your mentor will provide coaching to help you take charge of your development and navigate your career at Westpac.

Day to day you can expect

  • To contribute from Day One and have an impact on our business.
  • Plenty of opportunities to get involved in grad life where you can build your networks and friendships with those you work with, including business leaders.
  • Give back to our communities through volunteering and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead a project to solve a real business problem including presenting to key stakeholders.

What happens at the end

At the end of your programme, we will also support your transition to your next role with Westpac.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You
