Ko te ara angitū | The opportunity

Contribute to the full range of investigation, analysis, assessment, modelling, reporting and presentation tasks associated with client projects. This includes the provision of reliable data and analyses and problem-solving to independently overcome obstacles and achieve outcomes.
Execute, collate and analyse background studies that are needed to establish the basis of transport studies. Such studies will of necessity cover a wide variety of circumstances and range from simple descriptions to complex forecasts.

This is your chance to take your first step and use your technical know-how together with your investigation, analytical and design skills to deliver excellent service to our key and emerging clients in New Zealand. We have nationally recognised transportation engineers and planners who can assist you to take your career to the next level.

We work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide cost-effective, practical, innovative technology and engineering solutions for our clients. There will be a mix of transportation clients, including for local government, Waka Kotahi and the private sector.

The role in a snapshot will encompass the following:

  • Undertake transport assessments of a variety of proposed activities
  • Contribute to growing and delivering Stantec’s expanding Public Transport and Active Modes business areas. 
  • Produce calculations, specifications, and reports ensuring technical designs provide the appropriate solutions.
  • Assist with planning, coordination and report writing. 
  • Develop and calibrate traffic models.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tenders and proposals as required.
  • Support business development through communication with clients and client representatives; 
  • Contribute to the promotional efforts of the business centre 
  • Contribute to project teams to achieve delivery of projects to a consistently high standard 
  • Strive for continuous improvement and pursue excellence 
  • Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values 
  • As part of your graduate development and subject to long-term opportunities, you may be required to work from other Stantec offices.

  • Relevant technical qualification e.g. BEng. NZCE, BEngTech, Dip Eng.
  • I the strong investigation, analytical, communication and report writing skills.
  • Able to build trust and provide support to peers and clients.
  • Have a strong interest in professional development and building a challenging career in transport engineering and planning.
