The opportunity

We are looking for someone with less than two years of industry experience who will be responsible for providing GIS services to external and/or internal clients in a shared services environment.   This will require you to apply your technical knowledge to determine client needs and propose optimal GIS solutions to meet them.   

Day-to-day tasks would involve: 

  • Assist in creating mapping exhibits/deliverables on assigned projects
  • Utilising the GIS platform and software programs to complete assigned tasks
  • Assist in developing and creating GIS solutions to aid stakeholders, clients, and other users in understanding the relationships, patterns and trends of geospatial information
  • Work with areas of Stantec’s new Enterprise Licence, e.g. within Portal and ArcGIS Online

To be successful in this role you'll need: 

  • Undergraduate qualification in GIS, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to understand problems and develop creative solutions
  • Competent in relevant technical fields, including use of software and computer systems
  • A real interest in developing automated systems
  • Competent communicator (both written and verbal)
