What do our Graduate Transportation Engineers do? 

Our Graduate Transportation Engineers sit within the Auckland Transportation team and contribute to a variety of local and national transportation projects for a diverse range of clients.   

You will be working out of our brand-new Auckland office located in New Market right next to the Auckland Domain. We are surrounded by bespoke cafés, restaurants, the Auckland Domain, Auckland War Memorial Museum and Westfield New Market. So, whether you’re craving a coffee, eager to delve into history or simply want to indulge in retail therapy, everything you need is just steps away! 

Initially being part of our transport design team, your focus will be supporting our Project Managers and Project Technical Leads/ Discipline Leads to design and deliver transport engineering projects.  This role will give you opportunities across our wider team, including transport advisory, transport safety, transport engineering and geometrics, transport modelling and transportation planning.  

Examples of the type of work as part of the design team includes:  

• Design and Delivery: 2D and 3D design modelling, CAD (e.g., intersection design, road geometric design), procurement and contract documentation and BIM integration to deliver coordinated well thought out design solutions for our clients. 
• Infrastructure and Construction Management: Working with our Construction and Construction Monitoring engineers to undertake site visits and inspections, contract and program coordination, scheduling, and costing for infrastructure and roading projects.  
• Transport Advisory: High-level planning strategies and policies to help analysis and develop transportation solutions, business cases, economic analysis of significant infrastructure projects.  
• Traffic Engineering, Modelling and Planning: Transport modelling to analyse traffic flows and develop macro simulations, integrated transport assessments, private development traffic impact assessment and vehicle tracking and transport safety assessments and resolutions.

You will have a Qualification in Civil Engineering, Engineering Science, Mathematics or Physics with a passion for transportation and infrastructure design. 

To be eligible to apply you must: 

• Be a recent graduate or due to complete your studies in 2024. 
• Have a full clean current driving licence. 
• Working Rights: Student Visa (convertible to post study open work visa), Permanent Resident, Citizen.
