Join the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office as a Portfolio Analyst, providing strategic insights and data analysis in Wellington, NZ.

Your role

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to portfolio management advice for strategic and operational governance forums.
  • Manage portfolio data analysis, insights, and reporting.
  • Provide guidance to delivery teams for compliance with data quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality portfolio data and reports.
  • Conduct financial analysis and insights on the portfolio.
  • Track portfolio and project KPIs.

About you

Qualifications

  • Be experienced in data collation, analysis, and providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholders in understanding requirements and ensuring quality information.
  • Build successful relationships and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Have an understanding of tikanga and te ao Māori, or a willingness to learn.

Compensation & benefits

The role offers a salary range of NZD 87,672 to 103,143, including a 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution, based on experience.

Day to day responsibilities is heavy on reporting and writing responses to OIA's and Ministerial. Could do with more work specific on briefings etc.

Cons

    • It generally takes 4-6 years to go on posting.

    • The pressure and demands of the work. Often longer hours are needed to get the work done.

    • There is a strong culture of overwork.

    • Lack of social connectedness in the workplace, very hard to start work here with so much institutional knowledge.

    • The level of support from your team varies throughout the ministry.
