Watercare, GHD and Fulton Hogan are excited to collaborate once again to offer positions to Civil Engineering graduates to be part of "Project New Grad", the programme started in 2005, designed to expose you what a career in the Engineering industry could look like across the Utilities, Consultant and Contractor sectors.

The three companies have a common vision of delivering industry leading infrastructure projects which care for our environment, helping New Zealanders to have a better future. 

What’s in it for you

Project New Grad is a three-year, fixed term development programme made up of 12-month placement rotations across each organisation. Our aim is to equip you with the range of skills and experience you need for your successful career, to expose you to each of our different sectors and surround you with a network of experienced industry professionals.

The type of work you deliver will vary from placement to placement, however for all of them you will have the opportunity to make an impact on thousands of Aucklanders each day. You may find yourself working on designing water infrastructure, maintaining and improving assets across Auckland or working on site, impacting projects which improve delivery to the network.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for Civil Engineering students with Honours who are passionate about the future of Water and keen to see a broader perspective working across the project lifecycle. We are seeking applications from those who want to realise their personal potential, while enjoying the diversity of a network of professionals, contributing to the wider community.

You should be able to demonstrate your passion through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience or internships and have the following characteristics;

  • Actively identifying new areas for learning, regularly creating, and taking advantage of learning opportunities
  • Use newly gained knowledge and skills on the job and learn through their application

  • Delivers objectives in line with the company’s direction

  • Ensure personal/professional development is in line with relevant professional bodies.
