As a Graduate, you'll be matched with BNZ's best Agribusiness banking mentors in an on-the-job training programme that is supplemented by specific relationship management, credit assessment and portfolio management training. You will develop a wide range of skills enabling you to step into client management or client support positions at the end of the graduate programme.

We're flexible on location, therefore, we'll match you to the best opportunity available in a location suited to you.

Ō Pūkenga | About You

We are looking to recruit graduates who are passionate about farming businesses and working with the people that run those businesses.  Most of BNZ’s past agribusiness graduates have ‘farming in their DNA’, either by growing up on farms or through having studied Agribusiness or Agri Commerce at university.  We're looking for diverse talent that is representative of our customers and will help us transform banking to enable a high achieving New Zealand.

Successful candidates will:

  • Ideally have an agricultural background and an appropriate degree (e.g. in Agribusiness, Agri Commerce, Finance, Accounting or similar business-related majors).
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship building skills and the ability to relate well to others.
  • Be a ‘people person with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Show resilience and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
  • Have an interest in topical issues impacting New Zealand’s primary industries and the wider economy.
  • Ideally, demonstrate Māori cultural capability.

You must also be:

  • An NZ/ AUS resident or citizen
  • Available for our assessment centre or interview (from mid-late April 2022)
  • Available to start a full-time role in February 2023

At the moment I provide support on a commercial set alongside the partner and SA. My responsibilities include: - Writing Credit - answering customer requests - Managing the portfolios risk profile.
